Coronavirus update

Information for difficult times

Some services and some other activities have now resumed in St John’s and St Andrew’s Church. In accordance with the Government and Church of England Guidelines, numbers are limited in order to maintain social distancing and safe entry and exit. No congregational singing is permitted.

Church Services:

St John’s

Sunday at 10:30

All regular church members are now able to attend in person subject about once every 4 weeks. If you have not received guidance on how this will work, please contact the church office.

Visitors and newcomers are encouraged to come, and it is not necessary to book. If you are part of a large group or family, please check with the office first.

Typical services include: prerecorded or live music and singing from our musicians and singers, video contributions from those at home, a children’s talk, live sermon, and prayers.

Currently, at the 10:30 service, children will remain in church for the service and no creche facility is provided.

For those not able to be in church, the services are streamed live on YouTube, and can also be watched after the service. See our channel: YouTube

Tuesday at 10:30 A service of Holy Communion, including a sermon, but no music. There is no need to book for this service and all are welcome.
Second Sunday at 3pm A children’s service in St John’s for children and parents or guardians. Please contact the church office for more details.
4th Sunday at 3pm Junior church in the Schoolrooms. Please contact the church office for more details.

St Andrew’s

First and third Sunday at 3pm A chance to worship together. There is no need to book for this service.

 

St John’s opening times during the week

St John’s is now open for the normal hours during the week:

Monday to Friday: 10am to 3pm

Saturday: 10am to 1pm

Social distancing must be observed and please do not use the cordoned off areas. Hand sanitiser is available as you come in.

Midweek Groups:

Most ‘live’ midweek groups are suspended for the time being, but various groups are still meeting via Zoom or in other imaginative ways. These include our youth (on a Friday evening), our fellowship groups (on Tuesdays or Wednesdays) and our monthly parish prayer meeting (zoom on the 1st Wednesday of the month. Contact us if you would like to take part)). Footprints parent and toddler group also have some on-line sessions to take part in.

Please do make good use of our Website and Facebook page, where you will find information, activity resources, Sixes and Sevens newsletterrecorded sermons, etc.

Pastoral Care:

If you have any need for pastoral care, a request for prayer, or if you have any questions, you can contact the church office on 01935 427745, or via email, see the contact us page for details. We will ensure that you are put in touch with the right person. We also encourage you to pray with each other by phone.
