Information for difficult times
In these challenging times, we are aiming to provide opportunities for us to gather, worship, and support each other. This is being provided on-line and in-person as outlined below, and as safely as possible within the guidelines of the Church of England and government.
Statement from James Dudley-Smith
Our plans for services have just changed again! The Standing Committee have agreed that this was in fact not the time to be trying to increase our capacity by adding another service to our programme, just when the Government is giving a strong message about staying at home. So I am sorry to say that there will not be a 6:30 pm service on Sundays until further notice.
The 10:30 services on Sundays and Tuesdays will continue. We will livestream on Sunday mornings to YouTube as we have been doing. While the Government’s detailed advice permits attendance at services in Church, the main message is clear that we should not leave our homes except where necessary. This means that you can come on Sunday or Tuesday, but it is up to each person to consider carefully whether it is wise and right for you to do so.
The 3pm Sunday service for parents with Junior Church children is still on.
Thank you for your patience with our changing arrangements and messages.
Best wishes – James.
It’s possible to attend our services in person, or online, as outlined below. For those attending in person, we are following the Church of England Guidance on safe worship, which include: no singing, social distancing, no mingling of households. Hand sanitiser is provided. You will need to provide contact details or check in via the Track and Trace app. In case of any questions, or if you have problems booking in to a service, please contact the office.
You can attend in person. There is currently no need to book in.
All ‘in-person’ midweek groups are suspended for the duration of the November lockdown, but various groups are still meeting via Zoom or in other imaginative ways. These include our youth (on a Friday evening), our fellowship groups (on Tuesdays or Wednesdays) and our monthly parish prayer meeting (zoom on the 1st Wednesday of the month. Contact us if you would like to take part). Footprints parent and toddler group also have some on-line sessions to take part in.
If you have any need for pastoral care, a request for prayer, or if you have any questions, you can contact the church office on 01935 427745, or via email, see the contact us page for details. We will ensure that you are put in touch with the right person. We also encourage you to pray with each other by phone.
As other things come on-line we will keep you informed about them on our Facebook page and website.
